Christmas is a season for many gatherings and parties. This is a time many people get to take a break and visit family and friends.
When we throw parties for Christmas, we love to decorate for the occasion!
We go to our favorite stores like Target, HomeGoods, and At Home for decor pieces like small Christmas trees, cute little reindeer, and festive flower centerpieces.
Those things are nice and definitely set the atmosphere and bring out the Christmas spirit!
But there are so many other ways to decorate for your Christmas parties that will serve a purpose as well.
Here are 5 useful Christmas party decor ideas that won’t just look pretty but will have an intent!
1. Christmas Charcuterie Board
Charcuterie Boards are very popular right now and are created for many different events. Christmas is the perfect time to have one!
Not only do they provide an array of foods for your guests, but they are also aesthetically pleasing!
Christmas is a time when many of us like to display all of the festive decor such as reindeer, snowmen, stars, stockings, Christmas trees, and so many other things.
You can create a charcuterie board filled with a few different desserts!
Spread out those favorite holiday treats such as gingerbread and sugar cookies shaped like men, women, snowflakes, angels, candy canes, and wreaths.
Also, you can add some mini pies such as pecan pie, buttermilk pie, cherry crumb pie, and apple pie.
Oh, and I’m sure cinnamon rolls would be enjoyable as well LOL!
2. Assembled Gingerbread Houses
Putting together a gingerbread house isn’t always fun and sometimes don’t hold up well but they are fun once the assembly is complete.
With a gingerbread house that is already assembled all you need to do is decorate it which, let’s be honest, is the best part!
You can find assembled gingerbread houses at stores like Target, Walmart, Party City or Amazon.
Simply place the houses on your dining room table, living room table or wherever you see fit.
And voila! They make a great Christmas display as well as provide an activity for your guests!
I know the children will especially love it!
3. Christmas Bar Cart
Bar carts are really cool to have and don’t necessarily have to include alcoholic beverages if you don’t drink.
Adding a little cart to your space for a Christmas party is a great idea because it will add a decorative touch with many holiday drink options!
On the top shelf of your cart, you can place a glass of eggnog, some packets of hot chocolate, and a bowl of marshmallows.
Also, feel free to add a Keurig if you have one for an easier way to make a cup of hot chocolate, and stirring spoons.
On the bottom shelf of your cart, you can put any alcoholic beverages, mugs, and glasses.
4. Jars of Cocoa Mix
This one is such a cute idea!
I’m sure some of you have seen this kind of gift before and may even have received one.
You can add the same kind of jar mixture to your Christmas party!
You just use mason jars and add some cocoa powder, powdered milk, sugar, chocolate chips, and marshmallows.
Then, tie a festive ribbon around the jars and you can also add a tag or little sheet of paper with directions.
When you’re done making the jars and getting set up for your party, just place all of the jars on your spread table or a dedicated table.
Or you could place the jars all around the party space in different areas.
These cocoa jars will add such a festive flare to the space and the guests get to take them home to enjoy!
5. Christmas Games
Games are such a fun addition to parties; they add excitement and bring people closer together!
There are so many game options for Christmas; there are actual Christmas-themed board games and DIY games that you can either make or print and play.
Of course, you can play traditional non-themed games as well, the Christmas-themed games will just add to the Christmas vibe.
You can spread the Christmas-themed games out on a table and whallah, both decor and fun activities!
Let me know what you decided to add to your Christmas party! Have an amazing time with your loved ones and have a Merry Christmas!
